Overview & Reviews
For 2004, the Grand Cherokee gets a factory-installed DVD navigation system integrated into the radio. Columbia, Freedom and Special Edition trims are also new for 2004. All of these models incorporate subtle cosmetic touches and equipment upgrades. Additionally, each Columbia Edition Jeep comes with a complimentary Columbia parka.
- Powerful 4.7-liter V8, all-terrain capability, roomy comfort for four.
- Noisy and unrefined, questionable reliability, trucklike on-road handling.

Only in a Jeep - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Jeep Freak - September 29 - 4:56 pmAfter buying several domestic vehicles and having horrible quality, we were ready to give into a foreign vehicle. I wanted something fun to drive, yet a good size and could fit the family, luggage and myself and something good in the snow. My friends who had a 95 Grand Cherokee said that they loved theirs and that they have had nothing but basic maintenance done on theirs with 162,000 miles on it (still running too!). So with that, we looked into them, found one with the strong, efficient, and long-lasting 4.0 I-6 and bought it. We have had it for 1.5 years and we have almost 36,000 miles of trouble-free driving. Its fun, great size, and gets 17mpg in city and sometimes 22 on the highway. Great SUV!

First Jeep - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By JamesFGir - September 20 - 10:00 amI am very imperssed with the overall quality of my Grand Cherokee. It is fun to drive and has easy access,(in & out). The features included in my Limited Edition Jeep are all I could ask for or imagine. The V8 is powerful and smooth. All wheel drive gives a very secure feeling. The road noise is just a bit more than a car, but my car could not do what the Jeep can.

Love the car but a big time gas guzzler - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By athena carter - September 5 - 5:33 pmI just bought my Jeep it had about 6100 miles on it already. I love the car its very comfy and feels very safe. Except for when u turn fast or slow it seem top heavy. Also the mpg is not that good. I drove my car for 3 days and already was at half a tank. Its a big time gas guzzler.

2004 JGC Limited - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By salmuabe - August 28 - 10:00 amTraded in my 2000 JGC Laredo (V8) for the 2004 JGC Limited (V8). Fourth Jeep I have owned...not as "problem free" as some imports but Jeep lovers tend to be loyal! Beautifully styled SUV, nice medium size. The V8 makes the JGC as quick as many alleged sports cars and is usually faster. A light tap on the accelerator gives a suprising burst of speed. Overall, a head turner, fun to drive, easy on the eyes. Fun to drive and recommended to anyone considering a JGC.

one year later - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By rog4kneer - August 17 - 10:00 amThis Jeep now over one year old is running well with no mechanical problems. Find the interior way to small. I tend to get cramped on long trips. Came from a Dodge Durango and wish I had that type of space. Ride a little rough, but handles well. NO regrets, and would happily recommend this vehicle to anyone.

2004 Overland one year later. - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Paul Bok - August 4 - 6:06 amThe love affair continues. Looking great, running great and the only problem so far, the voltmeter quit working. On order with the dealership. Coming from San Diego back to Arizona, there is a steep, long, descending and winding road. BMW X5 with low profile tires tried to loose me at speeds nowhere close to legal. He will for ever remember graphite Overland, and its oversized custom exhaust pipe.
